Here are a few shots of some of the things I have been working on around my house lately.  Yesterday Maranda, my wife, and I put down new mulch in front of the house and today I built the fence by the mailbox.  Just wanted to show off some of my side projects.

Low Cost Curb Appeal

I was approached by a man where I work full time who asked if I could come out and take care of some of his front yard plant bed weed problems. After arriving I spent one full afternoon removing all the weeds from the bed and carrying them away.  The homeowner asked that we re-arrange all the existing plants in the bed so that it appeared more presentable while saving his wallet from the strain of high plant costs. Barry and I informed the homeowner of the dangers of moving these plants and warned him of the importance of watering these plants regularly after they were moved. The homeowner had requested us to lay ground cover and fill the bed with black mulch. After examining the home we noticed that he did not have gutters on the front of the house and suggested the extra investment in drainage rock.  We completed the job with about four to five total hours tied up and left the homeowner completely satisfied.

Complete Front Makeover for the Kropff Family

We began this job on Tuesday April 26 by building a cross-tie retaining wall running perpendicular into the corner of the house. The wall is supported by 24" re-enforcement bar in approximatly 6-7 locations. The cross tie was stacked two high at a full 88" then followed by a 76" on top of that and a 64" on top of that giving it a step effect.
The project was rained out on Wednesday but we were able to resume on Thursday by cutting out the flower beds and working the ground. Friday evening was spent placing plants for approval by the homeowner and then laying ground cover, placing edger and planting shrubs.
Saturday morining began with four square yards of rock being unloaded into the two large beds, trimming and shaping two burning bush plants and cutting down and hauling off three big Bradford Pear trees.  The job was complete at around 1:30pm Saturday afternoon with a total of 16 hours tied up in the entire project.  This job could have been completed in two work days but because Barry and I both work full time jobs it took three afternoons and half of one day.  Give us a call and let us give you an estimate on your next landscaping project.
